Our son's eye doctor told us his vision is fine, but that the muscles in his eyes may need surgery. She has no experience with Moebius syndrome but is checking with colleagues about this. Does anyone have any information on this surgery?

Many people with Moebius syndrome have eye muscle surgery, most commonly for strabismus (crossed eyes). I'd suggest, if possible, consulting with an eye doctor with experience with Moebius syndrome.

E-mail Vicki McCarrell, the Moebius Syndrome Foundation President, at [email protected] and we can give you a list of people in your state who you can speak with and learn which doctors they use and recommend.
